Made with 100% organic bamboo lyocell. Bamboo lyocell is the most sustainable bamboo fabric, made with pure organic bamboo pulp. It is crushed, washed and spun into yarns. Traditional lyocell is made from wood, but bamboo lyocell is a renewable plant source. Lyocell is a third generation cellulose fabric production method that changes wood into textile fibre. It is an improvement on the processes used to make its predecessors, Viscose (also known as Rayon) and Modal as it more efficient, produces less waste and results in a product that is less synthetic and much more eco-friendly and sustainable.

Softer and much more sustainable than silk, bamboo lyocell is not just silky, smooth and very soft, it is also extremely breathable, hypoallergenic, antimicrobial and temperature regulating. This premium fabric is lightweight and soft to touch, ensuring maximum comfort for skin contact, perfect for bedding and is luxuriously soft to sleep in.

1. Anti-bacterial
   Bamboo fibre is resistant to bacterial and fungal growth due to a natural component, kun. As bacterial growth is inhibited, this prevents the development of unpleasant odours.
2. Hypoallergenic
   The naturally smooth fibres of bamboo are gentle on skin which makes it ideal for those with allergies and skin sensitivities such as dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis.
3. Sweat Wicking
   Bamboo fibre is porous and absorbs up to four times more moisture than cotton but unlike cotton, it rapidly evaporates the moisture it absorbs.
4. Thermal Regulating
   Bamboo lyocell’s excellent sweat wicking properties help keep our bodies dry and regulate body temperature. This makes it suitable for all weather types i.e. for keeping cool in summer and warm in winter.
5. UV Protection
   Bamboo fibre is naturally resistant to harmful UV rays.
6. Sustainable & Eco Friendly
   The production of bamboo lyocell utilises a closed loop process which has minimal impact on the environment. Bamboo lyocell is fully biodegradable.
7. Easy Maintenance
   Bamboo lyocell requires minimal care and is easy to maintain. Unlike silk, bamboo fabric is very easy to take care of. Cold-wash on a gentle cycle without any bleach or softeners is recommended. Minimal ironing is required as well since wrinkles phase out after one night’s sleep.

Our fabrics are manufactured under the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which is an international testing and certification system for textiles, focusing primarily on limiting the use of harmful chemicals in the textile industry. Our fabrics are also dyed with non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes.

Do note that the 100% organic bamboo lyocell fabric is different from the bamboo spandex fabric (95% bamboo viscose + 5% spandex) used for our Caybaby Huggy.
